Commercial finance database opens for online searches | Georgia ...

A new online resource for tracking down commercial finance lenders has launched for property investors.

The Small Business Finance Directory lists around 1,000 specialist business lenders in the UK, offering commercial mortgages, leasing, HP, invoice discounting and factoring.

The listings cover brokers, banks and other finance companies who arrange finance direct to small businesses, including commercial and residential property developers and landlords.

The site is aimed at generating leads for brokers who belong to unofficial trade body the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB).

One advantage of dealing with NACFB brokers is they can source financial products from the whole commercial finance market rather than just offer those from a specific lender.

Some lenders also offer broker-specific products from time to time that are not generally available to consumers.

Although the directory list brokers and lenders, the designers have missed out details of the business sectors each firm prefers lending in.

Another online resource for property people seeking commercial finance is the independent site Moneyfacts.

The site publishes a regularly updated list of best buy commercial mortgages.

Current best buys range from commercial investment finance from NatWest at 70% loan to value from base rate plus 2.75% (3.35%) to residential development loans with the Bank of Scotland at 60% loan to value.

Nursing and care home specialist Norwich and Peterborough is also offering commercial finance at up to 75% loan to value.

Besides commercial mortgages, both web sites offer information about asset finance, like short-term bridging, leasing and more business-orientated lending, like invoice factoring.

The Small Business Finance Directory also points landlords and developers at the government?s Business Link finance pages for advice about business finance.
